Sensory stories on audio CD

Story Sensations is a unique range of sensory stories designed to provide an accessible storytelling experience for pupils with profound and multiple and severe learning difficulties. The stories have been custom written and professionally recorded to create an attractive blend of narrative, sound effects and music.

Central to the action

Suggested activities link to each story track, creating the opportunity for pupils to be at the centre of the storytelling action. Lindon Bennett School in Hanworth have used their extensive experience of teaching children with profound and multiple and severe learning difficulties to ensure that the suggested props and activities are fun, relevant, practical and safe.

Multi-level activities

By tailoring the props and activities to the specific needs of your pupils, the stories can operate on a number of different levels, e.g. multi-sensory experiences, interaction with an adult, simple role-playing exercises or identifying animals and objects. Large print story books are also available to cater for a wider range of abilities.

Spend more time working with pupils

With Story Sensations you can put on the CD and go! Extended sound effects and music have been included to allow time for the related activity. You will no longer be distracted by stopping and starting different tapes and CDs – more of your time can be spent working with your pupils.

Audio, props, action!

The Teacher's pack has been designed to allow you to quickly and easily run the sensory story for your pupils. The pack includes a Teacher's Guide and a Story Script as well as the audio CD itself – see inside for full details. All you need to provide are some suitable props, and you are ready to go!
